Student Introductions 3

Next up for student introductions is tent Digital Flower, featuring Attitude Alisha and Kamping Kennedy. Their tent is named after both of their cell phone alarm ring tones which end up waking up the opposite person.

Dumela! My name is Kennedy and I am a second year student at the University of Texas majoring in Biology. I would firstly like to give a huge thanks to my parents, Hal & Kris, for always supporting me and funding this incredible opportunity that I have been given. From this six-week program in Botswana, I hope to gain a more wholistic understanding of the similarity and differences across different cultures. I also hope to learn different approaches to field methods that I may use in any future research that I do. Thanks to everyone that made it possible for the existence of this program! I cannot wait to see what the rest of this program entails, and I am sure that the memories I make on this trip will be unforgettable!

My name is Alisha and I am here thanks to the UT COLA scholarship, the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Endowment for International and Multidisciplinary Studies Scholarship as well as the UT Summer Faculty-led scholarship, but most importantly due to my mom. She has dished out nearly all of her hard earned money to get me to where I stand today. Thanks momma. I am in Botswana as a senior geography major with an emphasis in geographic information systems. I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life but this is a pretty good start.
