Next up for student introductions is Tent Jent - Jazzy Jakki and Jinkies Julianne. The name Tent Jent comes from the fact that both of their names start with the letter J. Pretty cool!
Hi, I'm Julianne! I'm a senior at UT, majoring in Environmental Science, Biology track. I have a special interest in herpetology and have been looking for lizards, skinks frogs, toads, etc. on this trip. I'm hoping to see a snake from a safe distance. I'd like to thank my parents for supporting me and helping me get here. And my sister, Mary, and Luke for helping me pack and taking my picture in my ridiculous backpack. And my brother for his golden commentary. I love you all and I can't wait to see y'all again. Even though it is amazing here and I don't want to leave. The wildlife here is way cooler than it is in Texas.
Hi! I'm Jakki and I'm a junior at UT studying English and Environment & Sustainability. I wanted to come to Botswana not only to gain practical research experience, but also to see the country from a different perspective than I would as a tourist. To me, the most valuable part of world travel is getting a unique and genuine experience that is more adventurous than a typical tourists agenda. I'm also interested in looking at global environmental perspectives and seeing how nature plays a role in different cultures. I am excited to hear local music and learn about the native cultures that are rapidly changing. I especially want to thank my parents for supporting my journey. Mo di phologolong tsotlhe mo negeng, ke nata kutlwa go set la tse dingwe!
